Privacy Policy for Pixel Ruler Studio

Information processed on the device

While the measurement overlay is active, Pixel Ruler Studio may process:

• The current tab URL and protocol, only to identify browser-internal, extension, Store, and other protected pages where script injection is not permitted. The URL is not stored.
• Pointer position, click actions, page scroll position, window resizing, and the Escape key while the measurement interface is active.
• The x and y coordinates, width, and height of a region selected by the user.
• The rendered bounds of an element selected or hovered by the user.
• Limited element identifiers used in the measurement label: the element tag name, its id, and up to two CSS class names.
• Measurement text that the user explicitly chooses to write to the system clipboard.

This information is used only to display, update, clear, and copy the measurement requested by the user.

Pixel Ruler Studio does not access Chrome's browsing-history database. It does not intentionally read form values, passwords, authentication credentials, cookies, personal communications, or full page text as part of its measurement feature.

Information stored locally

Pixel Ruler Studio uses chrome.storage.local to save only these preferences on the user's device:

• Measurement mode.
• Measurement color.
• Guide color.
• Whether cursor guides are visible.

Page URLs, page content, element identifiers, and measurement results are not stored persistently by the extension.

Data transmission, sale, and sharing

Pixel Ruler Studio has no account system, analytics, telemetry, advertising SDK, external API, cloud service, or publisher-operated server.

The extension does not:

• Transmit processed information or stored preferences off the user's device.
• Sell, rent, license, or share user data.
• Use user data for advertising, profiling, credit decisions, or purposes unrelated to page measurement.
• Allow the publisher or another person to view the user's page or measurement data.

Permissions

Pixel Ruler Studio requests the following Chrome permissions:

• activeTab: provides temporary access to the current tab after the user invokes the extension.
• scripting: inserts the packaged local measurement JavaScript and CSS into the active tab.
• storage: saves the appearance and measurement-mode preferences listed above on the device.

The extension does not request permanent host permissions and does not execute remote code.

Retention and deletion

Current measurements and limited element information exist only in memory. They are cleared when the user clears the measurement, exits the overlay, presses Escape, reloads or closes the page, or closes the tab.

Stored preferences remain on the device until the user changes them, clears the extension's local data, or uninstalls the extension. Uninstalling Pixel Ruler Studio causes Chrome to remove the extension's local storage.

Text copied to the system clipboard is controlled by the user's operating system and can be replaced by copying other content.

Third-party services

Pixel Ruler Studio does not connect to third-party services. Websites visited by the user may have their own data practices, which are outside the control of Pixel Ruler Studio.

Limited Use

Pixel Ruler Studio's use of information received from Chrome APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes to this policy

If a future version changes how information is processed, stored, or transmitted, this policy and the Chrome Web Store disclosures will be updated before that version is published.
